Greenwatch is a non-governmental organization focused on environmental rights advocacy. Greenwatch promotes the enforcement of the UgandansÂ’ constitutional right to a clean and healthy environment. The organizations seeks to enhance public participation in the sustainable use, management, and protection of the environment and natural resources. Greenwatch works with the public and private sector to encourage public participation and ensure that policy makers have sufficient knowledge of environmental law to inform their decision making processes. Greenwatch has five program areas: enforcement of environmental law, human rights and governance, climate change, access rights, and biodiversity and natural resources. The organization provides training, consultation, strategic litigation, research, and advocacy services.
