Nijera Kori is a grassroots organization focused on establishing the fundamental rights of the people to create a society free from oppression and deprivation. Nijera Kori works primarily with rural women and men who earn their living through physical labor. The organization has mobilised 111,812 landless women and 91,265 men, a total of 202,077 members into forming autonomous groups of their own, working in 1168 villages in Bangladesh. Nijera Kori works towards an accountable and democratic social environment and establishing environmentally-sound sustainable development processes.
