The Environmental Technology Center (ENTEC) works on many activities in the field of environmental technology. ENTEC works to provide scientific and technological services in environmental consultancy, postgraduate education and training, monitoring of environmental management plan and environmental quality, and monitoring of pollution sources. ENTEC's designated functions and tasks are to research and design waste pollution control systems and technologies for environmental protection; to research and apply new technologies, technical measures for labor protection, clean water supply and environmental sanitation; and to research the measures for environmental restoration and improvement; conservation of nature and biodiversities. Additionally, CENTEC works to provide scientific and technological services in environmental consultancy, postgraduate education and training; monitoring of environmental management plan and environmental quality; monitoring of pollution sources, including air emissions, waste waters, solid wastes and hazardous wastes.

Hanoi University of Law is a leading university which in addition to conducting basic research, provides high-quality human resources training as well as counseling and legal services to the government and society at large.

The Institute for Topical Technology and Environmental Protection is the first environmental research institute in Vietnam. The Institute has a sophisticated system of monitoring and analalytical laboratories and carries out many research projects at the national level. The Institute leads major research and development activities including environmental quality monitoring (methodology, management and planning), environmental impact assessment (modelling, methodology, management, planning), and environmental strategy and planning.

The Institute of Resources and Environment of Hue University specializes in research and technology transfer to support the socio-economic development of the Central and Highland regions of Vietnam as well as post-graduate training in the field of resources and environment. IREN's research focuses include the management of natural resources, biodiversity conservation, payment for environmental services (PES/FPES), emissions reduction from deforestation and degradation (REDD, REDD+), and reducing the impacts of natural disasters and risks posed by climate change. IREN also organizes short-term trainings and capacity building activities for local officials at all levels about environmental impact assessments (EIA), GIS & RS, and community development.

The Vietnamese Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) is a non-governmental organization focused on protecting the natural resources and environment of Vietnam. VACNE works to raise awareness and promote education on the conservation of natural resources and environmental protection amongst the general public. The Associations seeks to mobilize community members to protest actions that violate environmental protection laws. VACNE encourages community members to participate in the development and implementation of policies, legislation, and measures relating to environmental protection and conservation. It also provides government agencies and businesses with consulting services, professional reviews and social appraisals.
