The Caribbean Coastal Area Management Foundation (C-CAM) is an environmental and development non-governmental organization.C-CAM works with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods, encourage the wise use of natural resources, promote community involvement in decision-making, and protect the cultural heritage and biodiversity of the Portland Bight Protected Area. C-CAMs approach to natural resources management is based on the maximum involvement of communities though co-management based on the best available scientific and social information.
The Cockpit Country Local Forest Management Committee (CCLFMC) is a community-based stakeholder organization that works with the Forestry Department to manage and conserve the forest areas encompassing the stakeholder communities. We promote the sustainable use of the cultural and natural resources in the Cockpit Country.
Founded in 1991, the Jamaica Environment Trust (JET) is a non-governmental organization the focuses on environmental education and advocacy. JET seeks to raise the profile of environmental issues in Jamaica through education and legal programs. JET's education program includes the School's Environment Program. Their legal program provides legal aid to communities whose environment is affected by high-impact development. JET worked with TAI to develop the Development Alert! website http://developmentalert.org/, which tracks development proposals to help the public stay informed and engaged in the decision-making process.
