Action Plus is a non-governmental organization which works to reduce poverty in Benin. The mission of Action Plus is to promote, through a participatory approach, the sustainable management of natural resources and the protection of Benin's environment and ecosystems. Action Plus aims to promote research, support for economic activities, social protection and safeguarding of the environment in order to fight against poverty in Benin. The organization works to improve forest management, improve environmental sanitation, strengthen the capacity of farmers' organizations, fight against violence against women and girls, and provide training in agricultural entrepreneurship.

Actions pour lEnvironnement et le Developpement Durable

Actions pour l’Environnement et le Développement Durable (ACED) is a nonprofit organization established in 2009 based in Bénin. ACED is involved in sustainable development issues with a focus on strengthening food security and nutrition in Benin. ACED seeks to be a leading institution in empowering agricultural communities for increased food security and poverty reduction. Most recently, ACED has worked on the reduction of the proliferation of water hyacinth on Lake Nokoué, and researching the vulnerability of communities in Benin to climate change.

AquaDed is a non-governmental organization that is focused on fighting poverty in Benin. "GRABE-Benin is a non-profit organization committed to the sustainable development of the rural world, working mainly with children, women, and peasants. GRABE-Benin aims to increase environmental awareness among the people through education and outreach. The organization also aims to develop actions to help significantly reduce human pressure on natural ecosystems while also regenerating, developing, and preserving them. GRABE-Benin works to develop programs to foster economic development in rural communities, such as an ecotourism trade and village cleaning. It is an organization that favors nature and human rights. It is also a school of citizenship where each member can express themselves freely and take responsibility to achieve joint projects. Finally GRABE-BENIN remains open to national and international partners. Among their areas of operation are the use of knowledge and indigenous knowledge, cultural biodiversity, ecocitizenship, and local development and support to indigenous peoples. GRABE-Benin has a number of projects, including “Achievement of Ecomapping" and "Ecocalendar with endogenous communities.”

Social Watch

Social Watch-Benin is a national network of civil society organizations in Benin dedicated to promoting citizen participation. Social Watch aims to create spaces for dialogue and exchange while also promote advocacy efforts. The network also aims to participate in designing and monitoring the implementation of the policy documents, sustainable human development projects, and programs to contribute to the well-being of communities in Benin. Social Watch capitalizes on the lobbying and advocacy capacity of civil society organizations to influence the decision making of Benin's government and the actions of development partners to provoke political changes favorable to social development. Among Social Watch's areas of activity are promoting good governance, fighting against corruption, promoting democracy, and respecting for human rights.
